I chose an illustration from The New Yorker by Seb Agresti for an article about art exhibitions that were coming to MOMA, Brooklyn Museum, and other NY museums from March 12th, 2018. The article was called, "Spring Art Preview: "Radical Women,"Adrian Piper, and More."
Seb Agresti is a graphic artist and illustrator based in The Netherlands. He works in illustration, design, sculpting, and painting. His work is very vibrant and colorful. His illustrations are eye-catching because of the big, simple shapes he incorporates. He uses a grain effect in most all of his graphic design work. I noticed his color palette almost always includes a mustard yellow, orange, and rich blues. His artwork has been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and Monocle Magazine to name a few. This past year (2018) he has dabbled in package, tee shirt, and album cover design. Agresti uses flat cut outs and doesn't seem to use any painterly or brush stroke style design.
